The Apologetics Press Tract Series
by Bert Thompson, Ph.D. and Wayne Jackson, M.A.

Through the years, as the work at Apologetics Press has grown, we have striven to introduce products that could be used to teach, and defend, the Gospel in a wide variety of instructional settings. We realized, early on, that a product that might be useful for one particular purpose might not fit another. Thus, we determined to offer a repertoire of materials from which our readers, and customers, could choose in order to meet their individual needs.

Few of our products have proven to be as popular a teaching tool, however, as the Apologetics Press Tract Series. At the outset of our work, we realized that there was a dearth of materials, in tract form, dealing with apologetics-related subjects. We made it our goal, therefore, to produce a tract series dedicated to those specific topics that fall within the purview of Christian apologetics and Christian evidences.

Originally, the tract series contained only a very few titles, each of which was printed in a single-color format. But today the situation is much changed. Over the past several months, we have worked diligently to increase the number of titles in the series, and to improve the quality of those that we do offer.

First, the good folks at Williams Printing here in Montgomery worked with us to improve the layout and design of the tracts. As a result, the entire series now is available in a two-color format, and is being printed on an attractive speckled, recycled paper that adds a lot of “class” to the finished product. Once the redesigning process was complete, we then began an in-house, comprehensive editing and rewriting process that ensured each tract was re-worked from top to bottom. Each tract underwent a complete revision of the text, to ensure that the quality of the content was as good as we could make it. Then, each tract was retypeset in a new type style that was both easy to read and pleasing to the eye. References were taken out of the body of the text and placed at the end of each article (following the format of Reason & Revelation), which made for much easier reading. Headings were added in large, bold print to help the reader more easily follow the subject being discussed. Quotations were indented, to set them off from the main body of the text and help them be more easily identifiable.

As a result, we believe the new Apologetics Press Tract Series is one of which our readers and customers can be justifiably proud. There are over 40 titles available in the tract series, including such topics as “Christianity and Humanism,” “A Christian Response to Euthanasia,” “Reincarnation and the Bible,” “A Study of the Providence of God,” “What About Dinosaurs?,” “Does Human Suffering Disprove the Existence of a Benevolent God?,” and many others. These tracts are valuable teaching aids that can be stuffed in envelopes with payments of bills each month, given to a friend you are trying to reach with the Gospel, left with someone in a hospital or convalescent home, etc. The price is only 10 per tract, or $7.50/100 (titles may be mixed). An up-to-date listing of available titles can be found in our latest catalog, or may be obtained by phoning our offices at 800/234-8558. Additional titles will be added in the coming weeks as well. If we can help you with this, or any other of our products, we will be happy to do so.
