“That You May Believe...”
by Bert Thompson, Ph.D.

Shortly after the work of Apologetics Press was instituted, we began publishing a unique series of books on various issues within the fields of Christian apologetics and Christian evidences. We wanted each of them to stand alone, and deal with a singular topic. And while we wanted the books to be brief and easy to read, we wanted them to be scholarly and fully documented as well.

Thus was born our “That You May Believe...” series. To date, we have six different volumes within the series, and plan to add additional volumes in the not-too-distant future as the need arises. Each book has an attractive two-color cover drawn by a professional artist, and is printed in a 5½x8½-inch format. Volumes range in length from 32 to 96 pages, and include complete bibliographic information for sources cited within the text.

Through the years, this series of books has proved to be one of our most stable, and popular, offerings. We print approximately 2,500 of each title at any one time, and then incorporate extensive revisions into successive printings—which ensures that the books remain current and up-to-date.

Wayne Jackson and I have authored or coauthored each of the volumes in the series except one. The newest in the series, The Case for the Existence of God (WJ/BT; $3.95), presents evidence from a variety of sources (design in nature, the fact of morality, design of the human body, etc.) to prove God’s existence. The Christian and Medical Ethics (BT; $3.50) explores the biblical, scientific, and ethical ramifications of such procedures as artificial insemination, cloning, in vitro fertilization, abortion, and others. The Global Flood of Noah (BT; $3.50) discusses the topic of this month’s feature article—the Genesis Flood. The Bible Translation Controversy (WJ; $3.50) investigates several modern-day translations of God’s Word, examines their strengths and weaknesses, and offers a plea for balance in regard to their use and opposition. The Scientific Case for Creation (BT; $3.95), the longest book in the series (96 pages), takes an in-depth look at the creation/evolution controversy, and offers evidence from science (the Law of Biogenesis; the laws of genetics; the laws of thermodynamics; the Law of Probability; the fossil record, etc.) to show why the creation model of origins is correct. The last volume in the “That You May Believe...” series Faith and Reason (Dick Sztanyo; $3.50), is a well-written presentation on the topic of how human reason fits into the scheme of biblical faith, and how false concepts of faith effectively undermine a person’s obedience to, and relationship with, God.

Purchased separately, the six volumes sell for approximately $22 (75¢ postage/handling for first book; 50¢ for each additional volume). However, this month we are offering the entire set at a special price of only $19 ($1.50 p/h per set). Each of the titles in the series provides a wealth of information in an informative, readable style. The entire set would make a valuable addition to a your own library, or a nice gift for a friend (think how appreciative a young preacher student would be to have these six books in his library). You may order by mail using the prices above, or phone us toll-free at 1-800-234-8558 to order with a credit card. If we can assist you with this order, or in any other way, please call on us. We appreciate your use of our products and services.
